OSSD Taiwan-Canada Dual Degree Program

To promote educational and cultural exchange between Taiwan and Canada, and to provide Taiwanese high school students with the opportunity to pursue a dual degree, the National Education Development Foundation of Canada, in collaboration with Outstanding International Academy, has established the Taiwan-Canada Dual Degree Program for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

INTRODUCTION TO THE OSSD

OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) is a high school diploma program accredited by the Ministry of Education of Ontario, Canada. This program targets students in grades 9 to 12. By completing at least 30 courses and meeting related requirements, students will receive a high school diploma issued by the Ministry of Education of Ontario. The OSSD certificate is widely recognized globally, allowing students to apply to top universities in major study destinations such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Recognition and International Competitiveness of OSSD

The OSSD program is globally recognized for its rigor and flexibility, comparable to IB, A-level, and AP. It allows graduates to directly apply to top universities like Harvard, MIT, Oxford, and the University of Toronto. Target Audience for the Program

Degree Program:

The OSSD is a comprehensive degree program. Upon meeting all course requirements, students will receive a high school diploma from the Ministry of Education of Ontario, Canada.

Flexible Learning Mode

 The OSSD program adopts an Online Merge Offline (OMO) learning model, allowing students to flexibly arrange their study time and gain knowledge in a diverse teaching environment.

Credit System and Learning Pathway:

The OSSD program requires students to earn 30 credits (18 compulsory, 12 elective), complete 40 hours of community service, and pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) or its equivalent course (OLC4O).

NATIONAL EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION OF CANADA (NEDFC)

The NEDFC is a non-profit organization approved by the Canadian federal government, dedicated to the overall educational development of youth. It aims to cultivate international perspectives, provide scholarships, and support international academic activities while expanding the international education sector, enabling more youth to access Canadian educational resources.

OUTSTANDING INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY (OIA)

Located in downtown Toronto, OIA is a private full-time international high school registered with the Ministry of Education of Canada (BSID: 883495). Authorized to issue Canadian high school diplomas, OIA offers high school and university preparatory credits, ensuring that students can successfully apply to renowned international universities.

For those requiring one-on-one tutoring, OIA provides bilingual paid tutoring. Partner schools’ professional faculty also offer offline tutoring, helping students manage learning progress and ensure quality and grades.

OIA offers the globally recognized OSSD diploma along with support like Reach Ahead programs, university prep courses, and personalized college application counseling. Top students (GPA 85% or above) can apply to leading universities such as the University of Toronto and other top 50 or globally ranked top 300 schools. Application support includes one-on-one counseling, customized schedules, IELTS training, credit recovery, OUAC application processing, and interview/essay guidance.

OIA collaborates with multiple universities to offer scholarships, early admissions, and priority admission opportunities. Language courses are available for students below admission requirements, and first-year preparatory courses are provided to reduce university admission thresholds. Additionally, OIA partners with associations to offer IELTS bridging courses and plans summer camps at the University of Toronto to enhance students' academic abilities and international competitiveness.

OIA and its partner schools jointly plan faculty training programs that include OIA's teaching system and Canadian educational philosophy. Training is conducted through live online sessions, platform learning, and offline practical exercises.
